The first tune “Tullochgorum” is originally a Scottish dance tune.
This tune is thought to have originally been a pipe tune, but it is now considered among the core repertoire of Scottish fiddle music. The tune can be tracked back to 1734 and its first appearance in music notation in the Duke of Perth MS. Of unknown authorship.
“Harpers in the market” is my own composition. I wrote these tune from the memories I made on my trip to Ireland. I and 4 other friends who are harpists from Scotland and Ireland went to Baltimore Fiddle Fair in 2017. Baltimore is very beautiful seaside village in west coast of Ireland. On a sunny Saturday morning, we went and played our harps at the local market and this is what this tune describes.
