about

Port Patrick is a Scottish jig which was originally a variation of Rory Dall air from Oswald’s Caledonian Pocket Companion. The title does not refer to a place. ‘Port’ simply means ‘tune’.
Following this is the Ruidhleadh Mo Nighean Donn – this is the Scottish mouth music called Puirt à beul. This title translated from the Gaelic means “My brown-haired girl would dance a reel”.
